There is just something about the term "small town" that conjures images of  the "good old days", of kids playing in the front yard, safe streets, and mostly of settling down. Or maybe, just settling. It seems as if society only deems you a true twentysomething if you are single, struggling in the city in some tiny dingy apartment, barely making ends meet but still going to the hippest clubs and eateries. How are you supposed to "find yourself" without living in the heat and excitement of the big city? Cool young people simply don't thrive in small towns right? Well I'm calling Bulls*** on this hipster crap!

I'm a twenty something (barely anymore, yikes!) living in a small town with my husband and loving every minute of it. We happen to live in a town that is a bit more bustling than your average main street community and is getting "hipper" by the moment.

Our beautiful little town, Dover NH.

I was recently married and I'm looking forward to staying right in this wonderful place as we begin our life as a family. How many people can say that they actually don't need to move to another town/out of the city if they decide to raise a family? See how lucky we are! We are currently renting the downstairs of this old beauty.

I know it's an old picture. This is actually the 3rd oldest standing house in Dover so I wanted you to see it in all it's old New England glory. We plan on building our dream house, on a piece of land we were given just a few streets away, in the next few years.

Loving this life isn't for the light of heart but it is everything I want. I love walking downtown and waving to our neighbors who range from 22 to 92 and who actually know our names. I love going to restaurants run by families and ordering food that is "farm to table" without pretension or knowledge of the trend. I love breathing the fresh air, picking the flowers, enjoying the silence and mostly, dreaming of my future in this "small town".

peace and love
